Proverbs 1 12-1-22

Choosing to follow Christ calls us to walk in the light as He is in the light. Through obedience we have relationship.

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

Each day, we are faced with choices of light and life or death and darkness.

Walking with Jesus: Light and life.

Turning away to our own desires: Darkness and death.

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:4

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

19 “The Light has come into the world. And the Light is the test by which men are guilty or not. People love darkness more than the Light because the things they do are sinful. 20 Everyone who sins hates the Light. He stays away from the Light because his sin would be found out. 21 The man who does what is right comes to the Light. What he does will be seen because he has done what God wanted him to do.” John 3:19-21

9 Be sure your love is true love. Hate what is sinful. Hold on to whatever is good. Romans 12:9

12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:12

What it boils down to is this: To believe in Jesus is to trust Him. He is there for us whenever we turn to Him. If we are striving to walk with Jesus, we don’t have to worry about salvation. We just need to learn to trust Him in everything with everything for everything. Let’s start with our very next decision…

Abba, You really do want a personal, on-going relationship with us. You want us to confide in You with every decision we make no matter how great or small. We can trust You to lead us in light and life. You are the Light of our lives. Amen.
