Proverbs 12 2-12-20

The life we live is like building a house. Be careful of the materials you use.

24 Diligent hands will rule, but laziness and in forced labor.

This entire chapter is about the natural benefits and/or consequences of our actions. The wicked who deal in wickedness are effectively the selfish who deal and selfishness. They act according to how they feel rather than what they know to be right.

Motivation is everything. Those who have the Holy Spirit are led and controlled by the Holy Spirit. Those who do not have His Spirit are controlled by their own selfish desires. We are naturally wayward people. We must learn to become a supernatural people by His power and His Spirit. In fact, we should not even try to be better versions of ourselves, but rather be reflectors of Christ. We can only be successful by His power, which is at work within us.

Colossians 1:29 To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.

Zechariah 4:6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

As we go through today, let us be aware of his presence, participate in his plan, and work according to his power.

ABBA, I know how hard it is because I struggle with it in my life. May I set myself aside and allow you to lead in my life. I don’t want to be a better version of me; I want to be a reflector of you! May it be so in my life today. Amen.
