Sometimes we forget the gravity of our situation. We live in a dark world. We NEED His LIGHT!
28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, (29) since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD.”
Day 14 of 21 Days of Deep
OUCH! God calls out to the sinner and to the saint, “Call to me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 (referred to as God’s telephone number). To one, it is unto salvation; to the other, it is for daily communion.
To the sinner, it is to save him from himself and his sinful ways. Sin kills, steals, and destroys (John 10:10a). It is to save him from being simple (unknowing and prone to evil) and a fool (knowing that what he is doing is wrong, but doing it anyway because HE wants to). Look at the promise: “I will pour out my heart to you and make my thoughts known to you (v21).” But, the invitation comes at HIS TIME by HIS SPIRIT.
To the saint, it is to dine with Him, which was a very intimate meal filled with love and laughter, sharing of thoughts, and of individual teaching. It’s a mentorship and is designed to be everyday, even every moment!
But, He extends His invitation only for a season. When that season is closed, we reap the fruit or consequences of our actions. It’s God’s natural way of things. He set this world up to run a certain way; He wants to guide us through it. THAT’S HOW THINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE!
How do we know that we are His? John has answered that question in his letter. “Whoever has the Son [living inside him/her, speaking to him/her on a constant basis, being the Leader, LORD] has life; whoever does not have the Son of God [has never bent the knee] does not have life.” 1 John 5:12. John said so himself:
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
