Thoughts and actions, words and deeds–one follows the other. How we live comes from what we believe about Jesus.
4 Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know!
Day 12 of 21 Days of Deep
Yes, we DO KNOW! He is the LORD God and His Son is Jesus Christ! It is VITAL that we keep this confession in the forefront of our minds, for it establishes and maintains our priorities. First thing in the morning, our flesh, our “old man,” tries to re-establish himself as first in our lives. We must “force him back in the grave” by reinforcing in our hearts our reverence for Christ, acknowledging Him as the Lord of our lives. In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. 1 Peter 3:15a. Studying passages like 1 John 5 will help us to do exactly that!
As always, read it first in your physical Bible; then, read it here and/or on your electronic device.
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
