Considering ourselves smarter than God is dangerous–yet, that’s exactly what happens when we don’t believe Him.
20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, 21 bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full.
Verses 22-31 give a detailed account of creation from Jesus’s perspective. HE is the craftsman at God’s side:
30 Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, 31 rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind.
Look at the underlined phrase, “day after day.” Jesus rejoiced as each day progressed. Consider this:
God made the heavens and the earth in six days. Why is that so difficult to get our arms around? We believe Him for salvation, so why can we not believe Him for creation? It doesn’t really matter if we ever know HOW He did it. Our faith is not based on being able to defend the Bible, but on Jesus in our lives.
Another reason I believe in a literal six days is because of the example and initiation of the six-day work week and the Sabbath. Did God have to do everything in six days? No, but I believe He did for good reason, the Sabbath and our health.
I talk about creation with you as Christians, but I won’t argue creation wth unbelievers. There’s no point until they are hearing from the Holy Spirit. With them it needs to be about Jesus and His resurrection, what He is doing in our lives, and what He wants to do for them.
Let’s make the Main Thing the Main Thing today: hearing from Him.
