Our knowledge of God comes straight from the Source: the Holy Spirit. If He doesn’t confirm it, then don’t trust it.
3 for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair;
God has always wanted His children to know Him. He walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day in the garden (Gen. 3:8). He made Himself known to Abraham and made a forever-pact with him (Gen. 13:14-17). He revealed Himself to Moses at the burning bush (Ex. 3:1-4:17). Samuel, David, Solomon, and all the prophets spoke with God. And then, Jesus came!
1 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. Heb 1:1-2
After Jesus’s resurrection, He met with Peter and the disciples numerous times as well as over 500 other followers, to His brother James, and then to Paul (1 Cor. 15:5-8). He spoke with John one more time in Revelation.
Jesus said that the Spirit will teach us all things and remind us of everything He said (John 14:26). Then, through a long process (several hundred years), He gave His people the written Word: the Bible. If we trust the Spirit at all, we can trust that its words are faithful and true.
Is there any new revelation from God? Not concerning Jesus Christ. He is ruling from heaven and will return to earth as Sovereign King one day.
Let’s focus on what we KNOW from His revealed Word as His Spirit reminds us and explains to us the words of our LORD AND Savior. Read it. Ponder it. LIVE It!
