Proverbs 25 1-25-19

Every time we read the Bible, we hear “good news from a distant land.” God has great things in store for us!

25 Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land. Pr 25:25

In light of today’s events, I thought it might do us all good to reflect upon heaven and some of the things God has in store for us.

20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Phl 3:20-21

Our bodies will be heavenly bodies, fit for living in such a glorious place.

1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms [mansions, places of residence]; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. Jn 14:1-3

We will be where He is, in a permanent residence made by Him!

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Jn 17:24

Jesus wants us to be with Him and experience His glory!

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words. 1Th 4:16-18

THE GREAT REUNION. Let’s, indeed, comfort each other with these words.

Pray for the Weigle family as we remember little Maverick this morning at 10:00.
