Have you been inspired lately? The Holy Spirit wants to inspire us! It’s a matter of being open to Him. Read on!
1 The sayings of King Lemuel—an oracle [inspired utterance] his mother taught him. Pr 31:1
The key to godly inspiration is godly instruction. Are we placing ourselves in a position to hear Him? God will speak to us through a sermon on Sunday, but He will speak to us on a more regular basis if we meet with Him daily in His Word. Why read the Bible?
The Bible is God’s chosen instrument to speak to us. He chose certain men to write down His inspired words and He has protected those writings through the centuries. As surely as He inspired the writers, He will inspire us as we read it. The Bible is God’s love letter to us!
Where else will we find out God’s plan (for the world and for us), His promises, what He loves and what He hates? His Spirit is ready to lead us and teach us as we read; all we have to do is pick it up and read it!
I recommend these things:
- Read to hear, not to finish.
- Do it daily.
- Length is not important; hearing His voice is!
- If you have a question, ask me. We will search the Scriptures together to find the answer.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a new year. Let’s start off right from the beginning with the righteous habit of spending time with God.
Btw, TIME is one of God’s love languages; it’s also the point of His Advent, crucifixion, and resurrection, breaking the stranglehold of sin and death and drawing us to His side. Let us not treat lightly the cross of Christ!
