Finding knowledge and gaining wisdom: both are admirable when sought from the right source–The LORD!
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who heeds wisdom’s instruction.
The phrase, “I don’t see why…” is a telltale sign that wisdom is not abounding at the moment. The whole point of wisdom is to be able to step back and see more of the picture. If a circumstance has a rope border, chances are it’s a noose! The only way for us humans to see what is going on in the spirit world is to have the Holy Spirit reveal it to us. We have NO spiritual insight in and of ourselves. The verse,
Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
can read, “Blessed are they who realize that they are spiritually bankrupt and are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked from a spiritual standpoint (Rev. 3:17), for they now have access to all of heaven’s riches and wisdom through the Spirit.”
When will we quit trying to do it ourselves? God created us to interact with Him, for us to be one with Him in thought and deed.
John 17:20-23 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
We use John 3:16 as our banner verse, but verse 23 here could easily be our daily verse! Let’s dwell on His indwelling and on how much He loves us and wants to be ONE with us!
