Proverbs 24 9-24-18

Checking with the Spirit on everything, asking and looking for His will in every situation: This is how to walk in the Spirit!

[1] Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company; [2] for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.

What most people don’t realize that if it is not God’s way, then the way is wicked. The choice is not between good and best or good and right; it’s between God’s way or wickedness.

We simply don’t know enough or can see enough concerning the future, the Spirit world, or God’s wonderful, overarching plan in order to make an informed decision. So, let’s stop trying, shall we?!

James put it like this:

James 4:13-17 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” [14] Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes [again, we don’t know enough or see enough of the future, the spirit world, or God’s wonderful, overarching plan]. [15] Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that [ask God!].” [16] As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. [17] Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.

Think about this last verse: Is it about not doing the right thing or is it about not asking what the right thing is? Jesus wants to be a part of every area of our lives. He has a plan that will bless our socks off if we let Him. All we have to do is ask! All the time! About everything!
