Proverbs 9 9-9-18

Application of God’s Word is hard because our feelings get in the way. Step back and see from His perspective.

Proverbs 9:8-9 Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. [9] Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.

Paul instructs us to think like Christ. In order to do so, we must first learn how Christ thinks and then how to “unthink” our thoughts and replace them with His actions understanding that our thoughts follow our actions and our feelings follow our thoughts.

Ephesians 4:32-5:2 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

[1] Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children [2] and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

We do His will out of obedience; we learn from Him how to think like Him; we become conduits for His love and compassion. NOT AN EASY TASK! But a noble one.

Let’s begin today through obedience to His Holy Spirit.
