Our instructions for the day are wrapped up in our Bibles. Open yours up and hear what the Spirit is saying to you!
Proverbs 4:1 Listen, my sons, to a [our] father’s instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.
Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.
We embrace the Word of God when we take the Bible in our hands and open it up to read it. I have enjoyed reading Ephesians over and over this past week (chapters 1-3 and then 4-6). Everyday, I go on an adventure as I chase down thoughts and follow trails that lead to other verses. I am also getting a grasp on the magnitude of what Christ did for us and what He is doing–what an amazing God we serve!!!
The Scriptures that Solomon read were only the Old Testament. We have the revelation of the Gospel! If Solomon urged his sons to learn the Scriptures and to “guard it (instruction) well, for it is your life (13),” then doesn’t it make sense for us to do the same, especially since we have “the rest of the story?”
I pray that the LORD will give you a powerful craving and a sense of urgency to learn His truths in His Word concerning the Gospel, “because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes…(Romans 1:16)”
