Proverbs 1 9-1-18

How long has it been since you prayed for the Lord to give you the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation? Well, that’s too long!

Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

King Solomon had the same idea when he compiled his Proverbs:

Proverbs 1:1-3 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: [2] for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight; [3] for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair;

Knowledge without the application of the Spirit is dangerous. We need His timing, His verbiage, His frame of mind and Him working/speaking through us in order for us to get it right.

1 Corinthians 8:1 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge [by itself] puffs up, but love builds up. [2] Anyone who claims to know all the answers doesn’t really know very much. [3] But the person who loves God is the one God knows and cares for.

If we truly love God, we will search for Him as for hidden treasure, as a pearl of great price (Matthew 13:44-46).

Let’s seek Him with all our heart today. He knows the way, the how, the when, and the why!
