Proverbs 23 8-23-18

Our future hope is to live in the presence of Christ and bask in His love, joy and peace—with no sin nature!

Proverbs 23:17-18 Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. [18] There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

The nice thing is that we get to experience His love, joy and peace on a limited basis RIGHT NOW! What we have to be careful to do is to not look at the “fun” that the world is having and then become dissatisfied with our life. Our goal is to become like Christ–not the world.

The best tool is, of course, The Spirit Within. Another essential is the Word of God. He wrote His truths down and speaks through them no matter what translation we use or even what language we are reading. Another essential is the Body of Christ: The Church, His Bride.

People tend to discount church and its importance. Christ established the Church, and as limited as it is, as flawed as it can be, our fellowship with each other is vital in becoming like Him.

This is CHURCH:

Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. [24] And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. [25] Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day [of His Return] approaching.

Do we all get along? No. Do we all see things that could be done better? Sure. Let’s pray about it and see how God leads in those matters. There may be something else that He wants fixed first (its usually a heart issue)!

There is NO DOUBT that God works through our weaknesses. Let’s ask Him to work through us–especially through our weaknesses!

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. [10] That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
