No matter what is going on, we can always “turn” to the LORD for comfort and peace.
Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the LORD leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.
“Untouched” – visited.
When we walk with the LORD, we enjoy His love and grace; we receive His peace and are caught up in the hope of being with Him completely and forever.
As we walk with Him, trouble comes to visit us: to take our peace and joy, to drag us away from His side. We, though, will not leave His side, so no matter what happens in this world, we are unmoved. This unshakable faith comes through knowing Him experientially through His Word and through life.
Paul gives this encouragement:
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
King David surely found it:
Psalms 16:11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
As we worship Him “together” today, let’s focus on Him and His presence, His kingdom and His righteousness. All other things we need will be added as we go.
