We create many of the circumstances in which we find ourselves. Living a godly life has many benefits, one of which is enjoying the fruit of our hands.
Proverbs 12:11 Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.
The problem we have as humans is that we cannot see beyond the physical and the “now.” Satan and his horde not only dwell in the spiritual, but in the eternal, as well. We NEED the Holy Spirit’s guidance for EVERY move we make, for every decision, and even for what we think. Otherwise, we are too easily led astray.
The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.
Here is a bit of advice concerning relationships: Promote peace.
Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy.
When we try to work conversations to our advantage (manipulation), we are being deceitful and we are circumventing the work and guidance of the Holy Spirit (anytime we go against the Holy Spirit, it is considered evil). Promoting peace may cost us personally, but God rewards us with His joy, and that’s something that is priceless! There is a certain satisfaction we get when we make Him happy while making others happy.
Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.
If we are lazy and do not work at spreading peace and leaning on the Holy Spirit for every decision, the consequences will catch up to us. It’s like a balloon note: If we don’t make payments each month on a 12-month interest-free balloon note–and pay it off on the last payment– ALL of the interest we were trying to avoid is added to the next payment. The same consequence applies to our lives. If we resist or avoid working at our relationships (including ours with Him), there will come a time when we will need connections, but they won’t be there. In fact, our history with them will work against us rather than for us.
Let’s be diligent NOW so that LATER we will have everything we need for any crisis that may arise in our health, our marriage, or life in general.
