When we superimpose the physical over the spiritual, we get into trouble. Spiritually, we are blind without Jesus!
Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
We cannot see where we are going spiritually. We NEED a Guide: the Holy Spirit! He leads us into all truth (John 16:13).
The question of the day is: Do we really want Him to lead us?
Our actions speak louder than our words at this point. Sometimes our pride rears its ugly head, but we read this verse:
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Sometimes we lose patience with Him when we think that He is not moving fast enough. The problem here is that we have not learned what waiting is really all about. Waiting is about getting to know Him. When we rest in Him, we learn to trust Him. When we get to know Him, we love Him. Once we have grown in these areas, we are ready to do His will willingly and joyously.
Having trouble hearing God? Read His Word and then listen. Read a verse or paragraph and then ask Him what it means. Mull it around (ponder it). Ask Him to reveal truth to you. HE WILL! If He doesn’t answer right away, keep reading and asking–and enjoying His presence. What we don’t realize is that every time we read His Word, HE IS PRESENT! Remember that we are blind spiritually–also, wretched, pitiful, poor, and naked without the Spirit (Rev. 3:17).
Here is our goal:
[Our King] takes pleasure in honest lips; He values the person who speaks the truth (what is right).
May we “take time to be holy” as we wait upon the LORD.
Isaiah 40:31 (NLT) But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
