Getting off the throne and onto the cross is imperative each morning. Want to be like Christ? Die to self!
Proverbs 3:3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
How does one “bind them around our necks and write them on our hearts?” There is a prerequisite; we must first relinquish control of our lives. Read verse five:
 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
In other words, don’t trust your own understanding; it’s flawed, obscured, and incomplete. We are designed for His companionship. We are like a telescope with no lens. WE NEED HIM!
We are “the captain of our own ship” and the chooser of our own destiny. Do we desire wisdom (v13)? Do we desire a good name (v4)? Do we desire a walking, talking relationship with the LORD (v6)? Then resign command and allow Him to pilot your ship and to guide you to His destiny for you.
Consider these verses:
 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
 He [the LORD] mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.
Let’s start our day of worship off right by trading places with Jesus: Him on the throne and us on the cross. NOW we are ready to worship!
