On this Memorial Day, we remember the fallen and thank God for their sacrifice.
Proverbs 28:26 He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe.
Both civilian and soldier alike must make the decision to trust the Lord. Otherwise, the enemy will deceive us and lead us down a dark path.
My cousin used to have a favorite phrase when he was three years old, “I do it.” That pretty much explains our spiritual attitude. Even though Adam and Eve were fully grown upon creation, they were still small children spiritually. We are still there!
Now we know why Christ says we need to die and be reborn. We now live in Christ with an eternal perspective–IF we will die to ourselves and allow Christ to live in and through us.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
As we give thanks for our fallen soldiers, let us even more give thanks for our LORD who died–and rose again–for us.
