Proverbs 24  6-24-16

3-4 are some of those beautiful verses that one would hang on the wall:

[3]  By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;

[4] through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures.

Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. We know what happens when we live by them. But what happens when we don’t? We find that story at the end of the chapter:

[30] I went past the field of the sluggard,
past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment;

 [31] thorns had come up everywhere,
the ground was covered with weeds,
and the stone wall was in ruins.

 [32] I applied my heart to what I observed
and learned a lesson from what I saw:

[33] A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—

[34] and poverty will come on you like a bandit
and scarcity like an armed man.

Be diligent in following Jesus. Die to self and allow Him to live and speak through you. We really must be “crucified with Christ and we no longer live, but Christ lives in us. This life we live in the body, we live by faith in the Son of God who loves us and gave Himself for us.” Gal. 2:20.
